As part of the Blues Foundation's Handy Awards Weekend, blues, country, r&b and rock 'n' roll musicians and legends will converge Saturday, May 26 at the New Daisy on Beale Street for BluesAid 2001, a benefit concert that helps aging blues artists and their families in time of need.

Bonnie Bramlett, Sam Carr, Steve Cropper, Jimmy Hall, Levon Helm & The Barn Burners, John Kay and Steppenwolf, The Kentucky Headhunters, Doug MacLeod, Kurtis Mathew, Buddy Miles, Gary Nicholson, Lee Roy Parnell, Ann Rabson, Dave Riley, Bobby Rush, Reba Russell, John Weston and The Cate Brothers have all committed to the live show and jam session that will start at 7:30 p.m. and go until the last musician calls it a night.

The benefit concert is held to help many of the most influential bluesmen and women in the industry who have not fared well financially and are without any healthcare insurance or savings. Presented by the Sonny Boy Blues Society of Helena, Ark., portions of the night's proceeds also will go to the Make A Wish Foundation and The Smithsonian Rock 'n' Soul Museum. The people who created the nonprofit society include founders of the world-renowned King Biscuit Blues Festival. All contributions are 100% tax deductible.

Tickets are available at TicketMaster locations, by calling 525-1515 or by ordering online at www.ticketmaster.com.
