" Candy Factory becomes home of BlueSpeak "
|
Staff Report
BlueSpeak, the only publication dedicated to the blues in Memphis, has taken up new resident one block off Beale Street. Conaway Brown Inc., the full-service communications company that publishes BlueSpeak, moved to 25 Linden Ave. in January from its former office in the Oak Court Mall office complex. It now occupies the first two floors and the basement of the historic Candy Factory building. "We just felt it was important for us to be Downtown," said BlueSpeak publisher David Wayne Brown. "We are excited by the rebirth of Downtown and wanted to be a part of it. We also think its great to be close to Beale Street. It will help us keep in touch with the trends there." The new office features a three-story atrium, linked by a spiral staircase. The top floor houses the agency's writers and designers. The ground floor features two conference rooms and production personnel, account executives and support staff. The basement houses the main conference room, a break room and kitchen. WorldSpice Technologies, a full-service Internet access provider, also will move into the basement. Conaway Brown and WorldSpice are the creators of Memphis Mojo, a Web site dedicated to Memphis music. You can find back issues of BlueSpeak at the site at http://www.memphismojo.com. The full address of BlueSpeak is now 25 Linden Ave., Memphis, TN 38103. The new phone number is (901) 527-6163; the fax number is (901) 522-1594. Drop in and see us if you're in the neighborhood.
