W.C. Handy Award-winners Corey Harris and Anson Funderburgh top the bill at the sixth annual Shannon Street Blues Fest in Jackson, Tenn. The June 7 festival, which takes place in downtown Jackson at the West Tennessee Farmer's Market, continues to grow. With this year's lineup, it becomes one of the premier festivals for the early summer. Funderburgh and his band, the Rockets featuring Sam Myers, are one of the hottest live bands on the blues circuit. Harris has been hailed one of the leading young blues players. He has released two records on the Alligator label and has toured with some of the biggest names in blues and alternative rock. Also performing will be the Last Chance Jug Band, featuring David Evans; Earl 'The Pearl' Banks; and R.L. Burnside. Gates open at 4 p.m., with the show starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. To order tickets, call 1-800-598-4330.
